Is this a rendering of a piece of furniture, or is it a photo of a laminated or silk screened chest of drawers?

If it is the latter, what a great idea for making an affordable and truly beautiful line of furniture.

I think the best part of this design is the light bulb. I really like when you can see the filament, but does anyone know how much energy a bulb like that uses?

I hate to come off like a jerk, but for a site all about design... could you make it less ugly? Otherwise I like the idea

Just heard your interview on npr... great idea. Im sure you will be for sometime overwhelmed, but if you have a moment please take a look at the "Elsie Series". This is the latest work from my studio, Nine Stories Furniture, also out of Brooklyn. The work is made from reclaimed automotive sheet metal. Any pigmentation in these pieces is from the original factory paint as it was found.
The "Elsie Side" table was featured in the November issue of I.D. Magazine's New and Notable issue.

Looks cool, but unfunctional. You can't write on raw wood with cracks in it.
